I have nothing to tell you this morning. There is no big insights or ideas that I need to share in this moment, and none that you need to hear. Instead, I’m going to give you a space of silence for the 2 minutes you would otherwise spend reading my words.

A short break in the middle of a conversation can be really important. And since I often call this blog a conversation, today we are having an “awkward” silence.

It’s funny how we call those pauses in conversations “awkward” silence. It doesn’t need to be awkward or uncomfortable. It can be fun to practice this. Even if the other person wants to crawl under the table, see if you can be at peace with stillness for 15 seconds in the midst of an otherwise lively discussion. You can find just as much insight in the breaks from conversation as in the conversation itself. Try it:
